Team Potential

Sporting Potential's Team Potential Programme is designed to enable all the constituent parts of any team to work together for peak performance.

We challenge and support management, coaches and other key supporters of teams of athletes - as well as the athletes themselves to produce their own personal bests.

How we develop your Team Performance Plan:

We use our experience in coaching, competition, and sports psychology to develop the Team Performance Plan.

Through discussion on team goals and by getting an overview of specific problems

Through use of video and direct observation

Through building relationships with all team members enabling Sporting Potential to put together a picture of how the team functions and what patterns of behaviour emerge.
Through development of the team’s performance profile from both the coaches’ and the athletes’ perspectives enabling a detailed picture to emerge of how all parts of the team view themselves and each other.

This is the initial process – a prelude to developing a programme that goes to the heart of the team’s needs

Putting the Team Plan into action

In a team setting the Performance Plan is usually implemented through the coaches, as well as group training sessions with the team and one to one with individual athletes. We use and teach a wide variety of performance enhancing methods to build the ability of both athletes and coaches to achieve their individual and team potential under pressure.

These may include any of the skills from the individual athlete performance plan. In addition we may provide a greater focus on communications skills within the team environment.

Monitoring team progress:

Monitoring the progress of the team and individual athletes is key to making sure that all the goals are being achieved and that there is an incremental increase in the way in which the whole team and its individuals are achieving their potential.

We review progress regularly with the athletes and support team and adapt and change the plan in consultation with the team management as new situations arise.
